Life Skills Training Program was organized by NIMHANS for Excise Officers and Vimukthi Coordinators from across the state.

A four-day Life Skills Training Program was organized by NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences) for Excise Officers and Vimukthi Coordinators representing all districts of the state. The program aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of life skills and equip them with effective strategies to address substance abuse and promote mental well-being in their communities.

Training Content

The training sessions were interactive and covered key topics such as communication, decision-making, stress management, emotional resilience, and problem-solving. Facilitated by experts from NIMHANS, the sessions provided practical insights and evidence-based approaches to tackle real-life challenges associated with substance use and addiction.

Interactive Approach

Additionally, the program emphasized the importance of life skills in raising awareness and creating supportive environments for individuals battling addiction. Participants engaged in group activities, role-plays, and case studies, which helped them develop a deeper understanding of their roles as societal change-makers.

This initiative, as part of the ongoing efforts by NIMHANS and the state government, significantly strengthened the Vimukthi Mission. The program concluded with participants expressing their commitment to applying the knowledge gained to create a meaningful impact at the grassroots level.
